Long Weekend Pt 2 - Kempenfest

On Sunday of the long weekend, for the first time since we met, Nathan and I braved the crowds of downtown Barrie and took in the festival extravaganza known as Kempenfest.  Truth be told, we were mostly motivated to go by our interest in seeing the photography of our peers.  Despite the crowds being thick and slow, we had a great time looking at all the amazing art.   We also brought our cameras along, of course, since we never leave home with them :)  Here are a few shots from the day...

...some funky garden mushrooms that we almost bought...

...a gorgeous hummingbird/flower garden ornament.  It really is a good thing we don't have a garden of our own yet otherwise the bank account would have taken a considerable hit that day.

The photo below was taken in the antique section of the festival and is a close-up of a spectacular looking accordion.  This accordion truly stopped us in our path and screamed to be photographed, much to the dismay of its owner.

As we walked along the beach we saw a group of kids making a sandcastle.  We just had to stop and catch a few images.

The next day Nathan made a quick trip to the train tracks just around the corner from our condo and captured a few photos that I really love and so I thought I'd sneak 'em in at the end of this post.

Hope everyone had a great long weekend as well.  Happy birding!!
